How We Test

APR METHODOLOGY

How APR researches and evaluates products

Our process makes evidence, limitations, commercial relationships and uncertainty visible instead of hiding them behind a single score.

STEP 1Official Claims
STEP 2Buyer Patterns
STEP 3Expert Tests
STEP 4Real Demos
STEP 5Long-Term Issues
STEP 6APR Verdict

Evidence 1 — official claims

We record specifications, pricing, renewal terms, warranty, refunds, documentation and support information. These remain company claims until supported by independent evidence.

Evidence 2 — customer experiences

We look for recurring patterns in attributable feedback. Isolated praise or complaints are not treated as universal truth, and suspicious or incentivised reviews receive less weight.

Evidence 3 — professional testing

Credible measurements and specialist evaluations are compared with attention to model, market, software version, date and testing conditions.

Evidence 4 — practical demonstrations

Videos, screenshots and creator demonstrations can reveal real workflows and limitations. Sponsorships and affiliate relationships are considered when evaluating these sources.

Evidence 5 — communities and post-purchase problems

Forums and communities can reveal compatibility issues, repairs, support problems, unexpected fees, refund difficulties and long-term regrets. Claims are cross-checked when possible.

Evidence 6 — APR verdict

The final assessment combines the evidence for a defined audience and use case. We consider usefulness, reliability, value, transparency, support, privacy or safety concerns and alternatives. No product is best for everyone.

Hands-on testing and scores

When APR performs hands-on testing, the article should explain what was tested, for how long and under what conditions. Research-only reviews are labelled accordingly. Scores are used only after comparable products have been evaluated consistently.

Updates

Material pages should show a research or update date. Prices and availability can change, so readers should verify the merchant page before purchase.
